Rarely does a film leave such a deep and long lasting impression the way “The Shawshank Redemption” does. Having seen the film several times already, I do not miss any opportunity to watch it again and again. After I watched this film, every time I see a beach or go to one, I get reminded of the ending of this film.

In his letter to Ellis Boyd Redding (Morgan Freeman), Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) asks him to meet at the beach. The letter has these iconic words “Hope is a good thing. May be the best of things. And no good thing ever dies.

The Shawshank Redemption” is no doubt a brilliant film. It touches upon hope as the main reason why we live. Hope for a better tomorrow gives all the tenacity to the prison inmates. They suffer humiliation and insults only to get out or may be escape one day from the hell.

The meeting at the beach of these two friends from Shawshank prison marks the end of this great film. Ellis Boyd Redding gets released from the prison and he finds his way to meet his friend Any Dufresne who managed a dramatic escaped from the prison using a poster of Rita Hayworth.
